My sister got me a queen ant for my birthday, but she didn't ask the seller what species it was. I know the pictures aren't that high quality, but it's the best I got. I just want to know if they have any special feeding preferences that I should keep in mind or if I can just go with the regular sugary/protein food sources. I have been told in a different post they may be from the genus messor, but I wanna make sure

If you are in South Europe; it is Messor structor to be exact. They are flying around May and June and then also a few times around September.
If you are from West Europe (Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Turkey, part of Russia..) however, this is Messor cf. muticus. And they fly at around the same time as Messor structor mentioned here above.
