Hi, I'm super excited to have my first queen to lay eggs. Can someone help me ID this lady? I'm in Ohio, found her around the end of May.

Thanks

Can you post some photos? Try using imgur.com
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony

That is a camponotus sp. queen, have a look at antmaps.org they can show you what species of camponotus live in your area.

Thanks @AM1C39! I just ordered a kit. She has a first brood of eggs, do you know how long before the workers will show up? I looked at the other sites, and there are many Camponotus sp in Ohio. Is there a good site with pictures of different subspecies, etc. I can reference?
