Hello,
I was wondering what species of queen I have caught. I live in Northern California, and while searching for ants I flipped over a rock and there seemed to be multiple workers ants and multiple queens all together. They are fairly small and seem to have a reddish hue to them. I primarily see large camponotus ants in the area I was searching, but these look different to me.

Re: What species of ant?
They are Myrmica americana or Myrmica incompleta.
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony
[Have a look at antmaps.org]
