Hello!
I located this tiny creature today and I'm hoping you can help me confirm what I have. I found her today 08/09/2020 at around 3:00 PM in Upstate NY. She was wandering around the pavement so I decided to scoop her up to get a closer look. After I caught her I did notice she was about a foot away from another very small ant species nest. If my guess at an ID is correct, could this be normal for a newly mated queen? If they don't fly do they wander out to found?
I apologize for the quality. My iPhone was never meant for this, lol.
Thanks for any help you can offer

It is a little difficult to tell how big she is. Could you measure her and then send the measurement?UserJB007 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2020 6:35 pmHello!

Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.
