So I was out collecting a worker to ID a species I plan to keep later on when I found queens of another species making their flight. Sadly I dont have a camera capable of taking decent pics, but heres the info:
She was found in maryland in mid september. Body is red, about 1/4 an inch long with one node. With most of the ones I found the wings fell off soon after flight. She still had a male attached to her after she landed, the male was black and about the size of a gnat, his body was maybe the size of her head.
Just glad I brought an extra container with me.

Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
