Found this in the bathroom and am not sure if it is a queen or termite but it only had one wing and then shed it in the tube. Here's the pic:

Also don't ask why its blue it was a lighting glitch.
Also it is about 5mm and found in riverside CA

I'm almost sure that's an ant. Termite's have much bigger heads and the thorax isn't as round. But I could be wrong.

Is the measurement accurate?

It's a queen. no Idea what species. I can tell that it is an ant because it has a thorax and it has bent antennas. termites have straight antennas. look up a picture of a termite queen. pretty crazy.
Proverbs 6:6-8

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
