I think I’ve captured a queen ant. Would like some confirmation, as well as a species ID if possible. Thanks! Boston, MA area.

Hey congrats,
You have caught a Lasius Niger, I also keep these and are quite easy to keep, just keep it in the dark often and give very little honey to her, and she will thrive. When nanitics arrive, I suggest feeding cricket legs, cockroaches and brown sugar, as my colony enjoys this,
