The queens were captured on July 15th and are around 6-7mm long. Workers 4-5mm. We were in Freeport, Maine and were looking under promising logs and debris for colonies. We flipped over one broken log and found a colony living inside. There were at least 4 visible queens and many workers. We kidnapped 2 queen and 10 workers and split them in half for travel. They have since been reunitied (a month later), but had some weird little fights upon meeting eachother again. They were perfectly fine at first, but after a few minutes one worker in particular got somehwat aggressive with another worker and a queen. It grabbed both by the neck and hauled them around a little bit, but did not look like it meant harm. We also spotted a few workers walking around with their gasters pointing forward.
Since we originally captured them, 5 of the workers have died, but both queens have laid eggs. We have offered fruit flies and honey, but cannot guarntee that they have actually eaten anything. At this point, we are just looking for an ID as well as maybe some advice or explanation for this is weird behavior. This will be our first multi-queen colony and first merging.

I just looked up T. Immigrans. I don't think thats what this is. You can see by the dead ant that they are quite a bit bigger. Can anyone help with this ID?
