sorry don't know what ants they are but to your question about light most ants don't like direct light into the nest but a lot of ants cant see red so people will use a red light to view a young colony or place see through red plastic over the nest, hope this helps

Myrmica sp Don't worry about what species she is (maybe M. Rubra?), because most Myrmica queens behave the same. She is semi-claustral which means that you need to provide her food during the founding stage. A drop of honey and a small fruit fly once a week is enough.
