Flyers from Corrales

These guys come out of 2 massive Siberian Elm trees in my property in Corrales New Mexico. Happens once a year around this time, usually stay within 10 yards of the tree, sometimes venturing out 50 plus yards. I don't know if they are ants. I've been told they are ants, and termites. Never been bit by one. The red/black ones team up on the all black looking ones. Once they land they never seem to fly again and the wings look jacked. I don't have pictures but a couple videos. If they are still at it when I get home from work I'll see what photos I can get. Typically goes on for a few days. Any info on what bug this is would be great. Thanks in advance.

Hello there! I'm guessing they are a type of Carpenter ants, but it is very hard to narrow down the identification from the jiggling mess of ants that you filmed. There are loads of different Camponotus species in your area, and for a number of them, I couldn't find any pictures.

I am thinking it might be:
Camponotus maccooki or Camponotus festinatus
