Found this Queen today, Dallas, TX.
She is 5 mm in length, has a slightly dark red tint on her head and thorax. I'm thinking either Lasius or Brachymyrmex. Sorry if the pictures are bad; my phone sucks and it's the best I can do.

An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.
