Hello,
I recently found a big colony of strange looking ants in a forest near a beach in Albania where I'm on vacation right now. The worker ants are (dark) red, have big kind of triangular heads, small thorax, thin petiole, thin long legs, and a small black pointed (upwards when walking) gaster. These ants were really fast and I had a hard time filming them. Their colony nested underground and they had several small mounds of dirt not too far away from each other.
I am really curious to what kind of species that colony belongs to and therefore need help identifying them
These links to pictures may not work, so I will edit my post later. Thank you!

I will try to post a video of that colony I filmed later if that could potentially help with the research

After some research I think I've got the answer The most likely species of the big, long legged ants colony I found, is Cataglyphis Nodus, a.k.a. the desert ant!Good2Know15 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2019 2:49 pmHello,
