I found this queen today near Baltimore in Maryland. I can’t seem to quite figure out what it is. I could use a second pair of eyes! I found her walking around but her wings are still on. Hopefully she’s fertile.

It is a bit hard to tell if your queen contains any red. Indeed she is a camponotus queen, more presicely one of these 6:
Camponotus caryae
Camponotus chromaiodes
Camponotus nearcticus
Camponotus novaeboracensis
Camponotus pennsylvanicus
Camponotus subbarbatus
I would personally think that she is camponotus nearcticus. But then again, this post is from 2019...
