need help finding out the sp of this queen ant
Found her on the sidewalk I live in canada Alberta Devon it looks somewhat like the carpenter ants I catch same size and everything but the middle is completely red unlike the other carpenter ants I have there middles are completely black and for some reason it won’t let me paste a pic of it in hear what it keeps saying is the files to big

C. heruleanus and C. nearcticus also can have red thoraxes. It is impossible to distinguish between them without photos. If you are having trouble posting pictures here, set up an account on imgur.com and display the link to the photo.
