Queen Identification
I am pretty sure that the fist queen is C.Pennsylvanicus The second queen I am not sure about may be C.Pennsylvanicus too.
This is the first queen:
The first queen was caught on a wall in Boise, Idaho and is about 10 mm long
The second queen was caught in Boise, Idaho and was in my house and is about the same size.

Camponotus chromaiodes in Idaho? Those guys have never been recorded past the Rockies. This is Camponotus vicinus.
An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.

Re: Queen Identification
Also Camponotus pennsylvanicus isn't found past the Rockies either. What you have is Camponotus modoc.

Re: Queen Identification
On antmaps.org it says that C. Pennsylvanicus is found in Idaho but I believe you about C. Vicinus and looking at photographs queen 1 does look similar to C. Modoc.
