Ant Identification
Hi there. I'm new to the ant world and wanted some help identifying this ant. Not sure if shes a queen or a major but I cant seem to determine what species she is. Any help would be appreciated.
(Sorry about the bottle, just got home and saw her during my jog. Also sorry for the crappy pic she does not like to stop moving when I'm trying take a picture of her.)

Re: Ant Identification
Huh this is the first time I've seen a wingless wasp but one of those images looked similar to her so a guess she is. Ah well. Back to hunting.

Dude you’re very lucky that thing didn’t sting you. It’s known as the cow killer.

Dasymutilla occidentalis? You were able to iD her without a clear view of her antennae or her gaster? Wow.JoeHostile1 wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 7:01 amDude you’re very lucky that thing didn’t sting you. It’s known as the cow killer.

An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.
