What species is this ant I found? Reason I'm asking is I like the way they go about in the garden, their shape and is it a good species of interest to keep or not and any tips. Thanks.

That is a Myrmica worker. You would need to either look at it under a microscope or disect it in order to determine the species.

An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.
