Found this queen mating in my Texas backyard. Dark Red head and thorax with black and yellow gaster. I'm thinking lasius neoniger or brachymyrmex depilis. Thoughts?

Brachymyrmex sp., very likely Brachymyrmex Patagonicus.
An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.

Yes but I find that they don't do well in more than 3 months of hibernation.
An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.
