Found this queen mating in my Texas backyard. Dark Red head and thorax with black and yellow gaster. I'm thinking lasius neoniger or brachymyrmex depilis. Thoughts?

Re: Queen ID
Brachymyrmex sp., very likely Brachymyrmex Patagonicus.
An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.

Re: Queen ID
Yes but I find that they don't do well in more than 3 months of hibernation.
