I'm not too sure on Australia's nuptial flights but, I do know that it is starting in many parts of Australia.
An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.

Depends on the species but I know for a fact that C. nigriceps and C. consobrinus fly at the end of December in the late afternoon. C. humilior also flies sometime in January I believe.
