Ant queen identification help?!

I recently caught a ant km not sure if its a male elate or a female but its around 8mm longits an orangish colour but i donot know what species it is. Could you please tell me.

Certainly. First upload a picture the best you can as big as you can the better. Try to take a couple under a bright light to really help us see what we're looking at next upload the picture to imgur.com and cope the .jpg link and post the link here and we will help ya also where are did you find her? What part of the world are ye?

Okay I'm not gonna lie I have zero experience with ants in Sri Lanka so I'll do my best to help. These are good pictures I'm sure she's in the formicidae family but I am not confident enough further I can't count the antenna scape and I'd need to see the madibles. If you could get a shot of the front of her head. And a shot of the petiole below the wings that would make it easier for me. Unless someone else has any ideas.

Definitely a carpenter ant although I'm not sure specifically waht species. And in case you were curious, the first ant you caught looked like a camponotus castomeaus queen.

Definitely a Camponotus spp. ( but a red one) search : red camponotus

So I'm pretty sure I found a queen. It was the day after a warm rain and she is a larger version of the local species I keep already but it's a wild caught group of only workers. I'm currently working on a military base in Afghanistan and wanted a hobby. So I chose ant keeping. I was wondering if I could get som help to see if she is a queen. She appears to have wing scars as well.
