Lasius Neoniger? Labor Day Queen?

Caught this beauty about a week ago in upstate new york, on a hot humid evening around 11pm under some lights as it was scurrying across the concrete trying to find a place to hide. She looks like a queen to me, and based on timing and looks I'm thinking its a Lasius Neoniger. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks in advance. Also Shes yet to lay eggs, Ive heard that she might wait til spring if it even is Lasius. Any advice on her beginning care?

That's what it looks like, but to could be americanus or pallitarsis.

For keeping her, it is quite simple and the same as your average beginner species. My Lasius queens have almost never waited until spring, so it depends. Just remember to only check on her once a week.

Lasius americanus stops flying around mid-August, so it could be L. pallitarsis or L. neoniger. Only pictures of the teeth on the mandibles and the hairs on the antennae will distinguish these two.
If you enjoy my expertise and identifications, please do not put wild populations at risk of disease by releasing pet colonies. We are responsible to give our pets the best care we can manage for the rest of their lives.
