Hello, new here after spending days extensively researching proper care, identifying queen ants and viewing ant tutorials I went and found six possible ant queens. Now I don’t have access to measuring tools but I believe I’ve figured out which species these are but I’d like a few second opinions from those more experienced.
Please pardon my sloppy camera work! Working with what I’ve got here.
Now I believe I’ve caught 5 Lasius Flavus “Yellow Meadow Ant” Queens and Possibly 1 Myrmica Rubra Queen though the region doesn’t quite match exactly from what I’m told.
Further information: My region is North Eastern United States; South Eastern Michigan.
The possible L. Flavus (now in test tubes) were all caught on the same day around mid-late August and the possible M. Rubra (open test tube/outworld container) most recently early September.
Please tell me if I’m wrong or have made any errors I would greatly appreciate it!
