Hi ant friends, I'm new to the ant keeping hobby. In July, I found this ant queen and put her in a test tube setup. Now she has a bunch of eggs. She is about 10mm long. I would be grateful if I could get an identification.
Thanks for your help and greetings from Switzerland.
I would appreciate some help identifying this ant.

By her size, I would guess Camponotis
Nylanderia Sp.
Pheidole Sp.

Lasius species. This picture is just blown up.

Lasius sp. We’d need a closeup of her antennal scapes and teeth in order to identify down the the species.System28 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 5:05 pmHi ant friends, I'm new to the ant keeping hobby. Thank you for your help and sorry for my late reply. I didn't want to disturb the queen to much. These are the best pictures I could take of her antennal scapes and teeth without taking her out.
I could not find a Lasius sp. with a matching color pattern. The closest species i could find that matches the pattern is Camponotus turkestanus, but it is not native to Switzerland.

Lasius sp just means Lasius species. We are not sure of the exact species so we say Lasius species or for short Lasius sp. Better to wait for workers before IDing.
An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.
