I recently caught my first Queen ant and and I am having trouble telling what species she is. If you could help I would be Exuber-ant. I caught her in the Seattle area (Renton more specifically) on August 9th. link to pictures are below.

I'd also say she is C. novaeboracensis.

Camponotus ants are my personal favorite, I wish I could find some that weren't solid black. I've never once seen a different colored carpenter ant here in Ohio. :x

I know they exist, but they're rare around me apparently.

Be careful around the queen and her eggs, they're known to use formic acid if you disturb the eggs with an outside "force" like a toothpick or BBQ skewer, which can also harm the ant that used it.
Keeper of:
Temnothorax curvispinosus x2
Camponotus nearcticus
Brachymyrmex depilis
Pogonomyrmex occidentalis

Founding:
Camponotus pennsylvanicus
Camponotus herculeanus
