What species are my ant queens?
Hi, I am 12 years old and am trying to get my first ant colony started. Can anyone help me identify my ants?

Re: What species are my ant queens?
Congrats on your captures.
I Can't help you with the species, but if you add the capture location and the approximate size, people here will find it more easy to identify them.

Re: What species are my ant queens?
Please read the forum rule on ID requests. But the first one is a Camponotus sp, the second one is a Lasius sp, and I'm tenative to ID the second one without accurate measurements in mm.
An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.

Re: What species are my ant queens?
1: Camponotus Pennsylvanicus
2:Lasius Americanus
3: I still hesitate with the ID but I'll say Pheidole.
