Hey!
I found this queen ant lying in my pool and was hoping someone could help me id it. Im not entirely sure if it is a queen. The queen was 1 cm long.

I get an error when following the link, are you sure it's a public picture?
First year of antkeeping, already enjoying it!
Currently founding:
Lasius niger
Lasius umbratus
Lasius flavus
Still hoping to find a Formica queen.

Ants are life's most successful invaders. Understand and respect that power.

Hah no worries and it looks to me like camponotus floridanus but I don't think it's a queen if it is... but I might be wrong. Florida is a little far away so I don't have as great as a reference too them

Thanks for the response! Wow, i didn’t know Camponotus species could be so big! I have found around 6-7 of these kind ants per day lying in my pool. But based on your response it probably is not a queen.MorbidBugg wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 10:06 amHah no worries and it looks to me like camponotus floridanus but I don't think it's a queen if it is... but I might be wrong.
