Myrmica? Pheidole? hALP!
Hi! So I've had this queen for a couple weeks now and have no clue what she is. She's smaller than my tetramorium, for sure. Caught in north central West Virginia. If she's Myrmica it may be too late as I've been treating her as fully claustral. She does have a small clutch of eggs that she clings to constantly. Any help would be appreciated.

Pheidole sp. queen.

Thanks! Those are "Big Headed Ants", right? I'd feel so lucky to have caught one of Mikey's favorites in my first year!
P.S. I like your signature. Too many people just give up or get lazy. It happens with every kind of pet.

@bowzerslayer Do you live in WV? I am looking for a queen. Think I could still find one at this time of year?

I am in WV. In fact, I'm the GAN farmerin WV (Morgantown). Though I haven't seen any ants flying in a couple weeks, I'm sure the season isn't over yet. Alternatively, I do have a Tetramorium sp. colony posted for sale on the GAN main page as well as a Pheidole sp. colony that I plan to post later today.

My Tetramorium sp. colony is posted at $60. The Pheidole sp. colony, being smaller and rarer, is currently posted at $100.jaagie wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 5:00 pmHow muchBowzerSlayer wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 1:00 pmI am in WV.
