Hi!
I caught this queen ant from an existing nest in the middle of Sweden. I've not been keeping ants for too long so i could need a helping hand with the identification. The only thing i know is that it's polygynous because i found it togheter with two exactly alike queens which i was too slow to catch.
Thanks in advance

Camponotus pennsylvanicus is an american species and not likely to be found in Sweden.
My guess would actually be a Formica sp. especially when looking at the workers in the first pic.

First year of antkeeping, already enjoying it!
Currently founding:
Lasius niger
Lasius umbratus
Lasius flavus
Still hoping to find a Formica queen.

Without a measurement on the queen I agree with Formica... if you had C. Pensylvannicus. Alot of people would want to know where you found it XD
AND just because you see three queens hanging out together after a nuptial doesn't mean they will be fully polygynous they may Lau together till the first workers and have a queen death match.

Ants are life's most successful invaders. Understand and respect that power.
