First shot at catching queens, managed to find this lady on my sidewalk. Poor little thing looks like she's lost a leg, but she seems alright. Thought i'd defer to you guys to figure out what exactly she is.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that’s not a queen, it’s a Camponotus major probably Camponotus Pennsylvanicus depending on your location.
An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.
