Ant colony ID... What are they?

I lifted up a rock and underneath I found a colony of hundreds of small ants. I captured the queen and 20-ish workers and put them in a pill case formicarium I made, unfortunate getting a lot of dirt in it along the way. The queen is about 5 mm and the workers are about 2-3 mm. The second picture is a picture of a worker that I took under a microscope a year ago. Thank you for helping me!

I think I'm going to release them btw... I want a colony that I raise from a new queen, not an established one.

Good idea it will be much more exciting! :D Plus taking large colony's from the wild stresses them out and sometimes they end up dying.
With all the things ants can do, you wonder, who rules the planet :?
