Ok so I was using the lemon with water technique long story short it failed but still thanks anyways AM1C39
But I was doing it with my dad since he was interested too so I wanted to show him this brow carpenter ant, but it turned it it was a queen

I think it’s a lasuis but still is it even a queen and even if it is a lasuis it’s not there nuptial flight time help

Hard to tell what species she is from the photos. How long is she in mm? She is definitely a queen.

Her length is about 9-10mm

Looks like a lasius sp. Have a look at antmaps.org they can show you what species of lasius live in your area.

(There are around 11-17 sp. in NH)

Yeah sorry I figured it out so I know what species it is it’s lasius nearcticus
But I’m super exited and nervous because not much is known on it so yeeess. There is discovery’s to be made! But also there almost nothing about it so I’ll just have to figure things. So out watch out I’m starting my first journal!
