Obviously it would by impossible for you guys to create hybrid nests for every or even most species of ants. Maybe a workaround would be an empty Hybrid Nest the ships with some sort of drying material you could mold to look like the ants natural nest? Or maybe just make empty hybrid nests that you could add dirt to.

Thanks for the suggestion. We have considered an empty Hybrid Nest that a digging medium can be added to. Our biggest concern was viewability. And of course it would have to make business sense for us. The design and creation of the tooling for the manufacture of the Hybrid Nests costs A LOT of money, so we have to be confident that it will be an item that sells. For example, we dropped two Hybrid Nest designs when we stopped 3D printing them because they just didn't sell well (Pogonomyrmex and Myrmica designs).

The new Ant Towers allow for a digging medium and so far have proven to be great "soil formicaria". I have a newly captured Tetramorium queen in one right now. She dug her claustral chamber and is right up against the side. I'll see how she does.

Yeah, that makes sense. With 3d space for the ants to dig in, Ant Towers will simply always be “more natural” and this fill the same niche but even better.
