Does anyone know nanitics life expectancy in general?
Of course, it varies by species. Let's say Camponotus pennsylvanicus?
Do they liver shorter than general workers?

Yes, it does. Some ant workers, especially Camponotus, can live for several years. My Camponotus barbaricus colony has 3 nanitics that are over a year old, so far only one has died (they came with 4).

Because they're the small ones? That's literally the meaning of the word.
In my Camponotus colony the difference between nanitics, minors, medias and majors is very significant and easy to spot.
