Ya, she could have died from parasites. Are you going to let the colony go, or are you going to kill them?TheUltimateAnt wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 5:21 pmParasitic death??antperson24 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 7:54 amI don't think you need to, If they feel the need they will.TheUltimateAnt wrote: ↑Sat Jan 21, 2023 2:25 pm
Thats pretty grim.. so how would I go about cleaning the bodys up from the nest? its a hybrid nest but the glass is permanently glued on
Yellow Maggot looking things are latched onto the queen and are inside of it, and fungi is growing on her.
I want to dispose of the colony, I felt so sick doing this but I plugged off all the tubing, some ants are trapped in the tower, outworld, and nest.
How would I clear them out? I dont need parasites secretly living in my setups to kill my next colony.

Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.

Re: Dead colony (Help)
I would prefer to let them go, I already had to kill a few of the workers in the outworld after separating each enclosure. It hurt so much those were my little friends (I am a weird person) How would I release them? The queen is dead, I dont think they will try to make a nest.antperson24 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 8:38 amYa, she could have died from parasites. You could just set it outside and see if they move out.TheUltimateAnt wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 4:36 pmI would prefer to let them go, I already had to kill a few of the workers in the outworld after separating each enclosure. Well, once the ants are out you could shoot high pressure water through the holes to try to get it all out.TheUltimateAnt wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 7:50 amAC Hyrbid nest 2.0

Re: Dead colony (Help)
Probably will do that. when I released them there were 7 living workers, and I checked the nest recently, they got rid of all the dead bodys but the dead queen is still in there, no workers insideantperson24 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 4:26 pmWell, once the ants are out you could shoot high pressure water through the holes to try to get it all out.
