First Queen

Let us know of your ant colonies or queens that have passed away. We will grieve together but will also learn why your ants may not have succeeded.

Caught a Queen in Flagstaff AZ, 10-8-16 at 11:20am. I think it was of the Lasius Genus. My girlfriend found her and it was the largest ant I've ever seen. She looked so big and mysterious. But her Gaster was all messed up. It could have been because we were working in a garden and turning soil, but who knows. I got home from flagstaff(Back to cave creek) and had her wrapped in a sock and placed it on my shelf and got excited and showed my roommate and when I uncovered the sock she was all withered up. Too sad. There's always this spring.
