The first and only queen ant I've ever caught (for now) died and I think it was because she was not fertilized she didnt lay eggs for like the entire 2 months I had her I fed her honey and syrup but she still died there could have been some mold I hadn't noticed but besides that she seemed to be doing well she died about a month ago. R.I.P little ant

It happens, far too often for me. I quit a while back due to losing so many queens. I would have them get to 10-15 nanitucs. Then they would slowly die off. Started back recently due to accidentally acquiring three queens. Giving it another go. Just hate having them die. Sorry for your loss. Everyone has had queens die,. Only thing I dislike about this hobby.

Yes it can be hard. I had an r.metallica male. Thought it was a queen. It died and it was quite devastating with that being my first catch.

Sorry to hear of your loss bro. But to all of you guys who have had queens die, don't give up. Keep trying and you will eventually have a great colony. You will learn from your mistakes.
Trying to find a queen ant :D
