Fall of my Camponotus Queen

Let us know of your ant colonies or queens that have passed away. We will grieve together but will also learn why your ants may not have succeeded.

Fall of my Camponotus Queen

Post: # 45992Post QueenAnt

Today my queen has passed away. I had a strange urge to check on her and found her dead in the test tube, leaving behind 7 eggs that will never see life or their queen. The blow is more devastating then I could realize. However in the light of bad news I managed to get a hold of a GAN farmer and will be soon getting a queen and workers. To my queen who has died and eggs that will never know her beauty and life I hope you rest in peace.

I feel bad if a Solenopsis molesta queen dies. I have expeirnced Formica and Lasius queen deaths but if my Camponotus pennsylvanicus colony or my single C. pennsylvanicus queen died, that would be more than I could bear. I'm sorry for your loss.

i find that one of the reasons that i like camponotus is that they are so big you can see the emotion in them more than other ants. When they die though this makes the event all the more heartbreaking.

Agreed. Ive had a couple queens die and had to release a couple that were infertile. But the only one i care about is the camponotus queen i lost. They are freaking awesome. I am a GAN farmer and have sold quite a few queens, but at this point i dont think ill ever sell a campnotus.

Eh, common is $50. However it all depends on the local market. The biggest thing to just to spread ant love, not to make $.

I don't see why someone would pay 50 bucks for a Lasius queen. Maybe Crematogaster, but Lasius are just too common, easy to find, and nothing superinteresting about them.
