Acanthommyrmex sulawesiensis in my opinion is the most rare ant unknown species of ant and has only been seen once in the wild and was only discovered in 1998, it only lives on one island in Indonesia called Sulawesi! In my opinion we should send more myrmecoligists to the area where it was discovered

The funding for entomology is fairly low in the US, and even lower in other countries! Also, sending entomologist to an island where dangers like snakes and other dangerous animals are is not likely. 1998 wasnt that long ago either. Until recently, a species of harvester ant hadnt been seen since 1919, until an antkeeper found them in a park.
