I mean if ants can have alate eggs why cant they have super major and major eggs. Protein theory will work as far as the size of workers isnt fixed. For eg. solenopsis have different sized workers where as most phiedoli and carebara have specific sized worker where major are a fixed size.
Ants I have-
camponotus compressus colony- the shadow warriors.
Pls just let me have a tetramorium colony

It’s a debate since they first though it depended on protein. Maybe the protein and fats the queen gets?

Well, only science in a few years will determine that. I think experiments support and deny both theories so it is kind of a large debate. For example, one could say the queen lays no infertile (if mated)eggs and the workers do that for her to make males.
