Frozen mealworms for Camponotus colony

I went to the pet store (petsmart to be exact) and saw some frozen or dried mealworms. Is it a good protein source for ants? I don't want live mealworms and I'm willing to spend money if I dont have to.

I have tried freeze dried crickets, and my ants would not eat them. They need the liquid of the guts to drink. So if you don't want to kill your insects, I don't know what you should do. If you are worried about how humane it is, you could put the insect in the freezer, this is very humane as the cricket goes into a deep sleep, and feels nothing.
Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.
