I use to do 1:1 sugar water, but I have been told 1:2 sugar to water and some people do 1:7 sugar to water. Try 1:2 first, and if they don’t like it, try 1:3, and if they don’t like that 1:4, and so fourth. Also what species? Some species will not drink nectar/sugar water, but there is very few.

(1 part sugar 2 parts water)

You need to boil it only if the sugar isn't dissolving. You can just heat some water and add enough sugar that all of it dissolves. Then let it cool to room temperature and fill the test tube with it and you're done!
Ants I have-
camponotus compressus colony- the shadow warriors.
Pls just let me have a tetramorium colony

You will need to change it every few days though

Making Concentrated Sugar Water. Fill a pot with 1 cup (240 milliliters) of water and 2 cups (400 grams) of white, granulated sugar. If you need to make a smaller or larger amount, then use one part water and two parts sugar.
