Can I feed a growing Camponotus pennsulvanicus (black carpenter ant) woodlice?

Yes I have seen people do it before but it might be somewhat hard for them to eat them.
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony

Yeah, it may take a while for the ants to figure out how to bite the woodlice but they also make great cleaners :lol:

I would like to add that if you plan on doing so, you do it at your own risk because some outside insects *may* contain pesticides and parasites'. It us unlikely to happen and I have never had a problem with it before but I do know it is some common advice passed down.

true. it's uncommon but if you know your area sprays pesticides, maybe don't risk it

They may also have pathogens transmit able to ants

or the bloodsucking mites that killed my solonopsis colony... check the bug unless it disgusts you for any parasites but be aware that some parasites are not visible

Especially if queen gets. We should invent some ant meds for mites and parasites. The “ant ****” xD
