Diet for Lasius niger

SO i know that ants need protien and a good source is insects (and other bugs) or eggs, etc
and they need suger to provide carbs, though sugar is a simple carb is this enough.

What is a good balanced diet, 100% insect + suger water? (plus clean fresh water as well) or what other thing to feed a young colony of 50 indivuals to help it grow?

You should switch what you feed them all the time and give them various types of foods. What you are talking about should be fine for them.
