Best Sugar Source?

As far as my research takes me, there is a lot of debate on the best sugar source. So I want to discuss this.
What I know/have read--- basicaly, there are three main ideas. (discluding fruit.) Maple Syrup, Organic honey, and Raw honey. I know maple syrup is slightly natural because it is made of tree sap and ants eat aphid waste and such, the aphids and such drink tree sap. It doesn't seem to have any cons, and you don't even need a natural source, as long as its safe. I have read somewhere, (not sure how true it is) that raw honey can dehydrate the ants. I don't really understand that, my closest guess is like us eating a gallon of peanut butter and not washing it out. I have heard organic honey is also really good and is only slightly like the raw honey, I doubt the dehydration thing is true though, seeing as plenty of people feed their ants honey and their fine. Either way, we can all agree that variety is great for the ants, and you should save fruit till the ant colony is larger. That way they are able to finish it.

The ants will be fine whatever you do and will eat whatever you give them.

In the wild they eat "organic honey" but they like anything that is close to honey.

I just buy plain old honey. Works just as great as other honey but I switched over to some sugar water.
