I have a colony of about 100-200 red fire ants.. I feed them meal worms and sometimes ham (they love ham).. but mostly meal worms.
I've been doing 1 meal worm every other day, but they are quite small.. for a few days I was doing 1 meal worm a day and they would always jump on it and eat it. When I don't feed them often I notice they try to escape more often.. so I like to "overfeed" to keep them busy i guess..
I'm curious.. for my colony size, how often and how many meal worms should I be feeding them?
How often should I feed my RIFA?

If you want them to get to a large size faster you can feed them as much as they will eat.
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony
[Have a look at antmaps.org]

Thanks for your feedback.
I guess I will have to try to overfeed them and see how much is "too much" and then scale up/down from there accordingly.

If they get too big remember to cut down on food to slow them down a bit.Just a little tip.
