Springtails

I've ordered a culture of springtails for my tank, and I wanted to know if my carpenter ants would try to catch and eat them or if they would ignore them. I'm really hoping they try to catch and eat them.

It's a 50 50 chance they would. If they do start eating them, you need to make sure your still feeding them crickets, mealworms, etc and honey. Hope this helps :P Ant love forever!!

Springtails might be a bit hard to catch for larger ants due to their speed. So, although your ants might hunt them if they're starving, they wont be their prefered protien source, due to the amount of energy your ants will need to use to catch them.

Just curious, I myself was thinking of adding springtails but was worried I don't have the right set up. What kinds of substrate do you use?
