I am in the early stages of raising a Camponotus colony and I am curious if this genus has particular preferences for protein or other foods that they go crazy for. I have crickets available, but I just wish to ask those who have more experience with this genus than I if they have noticed particular preferences for protein.

They accept most protein sources, but as for preferences they love sugars and anything sweat, but can be nocturnal and not very active until you have around 20 workers but don't worry they just not the most active species for the first workers.
