That is a really good design idea! May try something like this too. Most of my ants are in AC setups so I may add the heat cable to them and try this with the smaller colonies.
Oh and BTW I have a pretty big C.chromaiodes colony I feed protien everyday and sugar as the Honey I give is depleted.
smaller colonies get every other day or three.
How often do you feed proteins to your colony?

I'm glad you like it. It will surely make a difference for their growth rate.Acutus3399 wrote: ↑Fri May 10, 2019 8:07 pmThat is a really good design idea! May try something like this too. Most of my ants are in AC setups so I may add the heat cable to them and try this with the smaller colonies.

Out of curiosity though... how big is the Camponotus colony in numbers (approximately), and how long have you been keeping it?
Keeping the following colonies:
- [2x] Camponotus Barbaricus
- [2x] Lasius Flavus

Only since 4/23 so I'm very new to this. You can see the colony in my post Here:UnrealSparks wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2019 3:25 amThat's nice, thanks!

I've never seen a Camponotus colony that big! Wow! It must be challenging for a beginner, but good luck!

Thank you! It's a very cool colony and sar far not real difficult at all. I counted ants in pics today and there are more than 500 workers but the amount of brood is mind boggling. There is gonna be a population explosion really soon!
