Honey Replacements

Hey guys and gals,

Currently I place my drop of honey on a small piece of paper in the outworld. I know honey doesn’t technically go bad for a long time as long as it’s natural so my question is, how often do you guys change out your honey drops? I use a heat lamp to keep my gals all toasty warm so I know this messes with the honey, like making it thicker. I was wondering if there is a specific time table I should look to keep or just every couple days. What do you guys do?

I tend to leave the honey for my ants in for weeks until it becomes as dry as plaster. I do not really have a set amount of time that use to place new drops of honey in, I just take a long toothpick and get a feel for the honey to see if I should put in a new drop or not.

It's best to give them a drop you know they can finish in one sitting.

I generally just leave them there. Change it out once a month or so. However the ants do like fresh honey ALOT more than hard honey. so the honey drop will prevent them from starving, but once in a while i add a small drop of maple syrup to give them something easy to eat. they enjoy it.
