Any alternatives to use as barriers?

Is there any alternatives to use instead of fluon or baby powder for the barrier to the outworld. Like stuff that i could find from the kitchen without having to go to the shop

You can use vaseline or if the species of ants you are housing can't swim, you can put their outworld into a trai full of water.
